And also, in high temperature, chromium can react with the nitrogen, and then be eroded by nitrogen. It can be dissolved in alkali solution. Chromium has good corrosion resistance. And in the air, even in the red heat situation, the oxidation is very slow. It is insoluble in water, so if it is plated on the metal, it can play a protective role.
